The amount is not specified by the immigration bureau.
But, it might be enough if the person can stay in Japan without any financial difficulty.
If your family remit the money occasionally, the copy of the remittance like the bankbook helps you to show as a proof.
I would like to ask about the application of extension . In the application document, I wonder what to write about “Lesson hours per week(including scheduled lessons).”
It depends on the semester that the number of the lessons I take should be different. What number should I write?
Fill in the number of the semester when you go to the immigration bureau. Make sure to bring there the certificate of registration. If you are not sure about the number such as before-the-new-semester, contact us.

To work part-time with “Student” status, you need to get a “permission to engage in an activity other than those permitted by the status of residence previously granted”. Then you may work within 28-hour per week, otherwise within 8-hour long in a day and 40 hours in a week during a break.

I would like to ask you the Notification of the Accepting Organization.
Students who enroll Hosei University from other institutions in Japan (incl. language school) and students who graduate from Hosei University or go to another university have to notify the immigration office. For students who enroll from spring semester, the tuition reduction rate will be fixed in July. The same tuition reduction rate will be applied to both spring and fall semester.
For students who enroll from fall semester, the tuition reduction rate will be fixed in November. The same tuition reduction rate will be applied to both fall semester and next spring semester.

You may apply if you start job hunting before graduation. Graduates can apply without sufficient records if devoted to research activities. For changing your status to “Designated Activities,” you can get the recommendation letter issued by the university.

I am in the military service and taking a leave of absence. What should I do if my leave of absence due to the military service will be more than 2 years?

I am/will be in the military service and taking a leave of absence. I would like to know about my Jasso Scholarship reservation holder (Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship for Privately-Financed International Students) and tuition reduction.
Even though you are a Jasso Scholarship reservation holder, you may not receive the scholarship if you take a leave of absence for the military service right after your enrollment. If you take a leave of absence after start-receiving the scholarship, you can receive until the month in which you signed your last enrollment.

For the confirmations, make sure to pay the rent by the due date, report your contact anytime you change your contact, find another place after your leave of the university, and take all the procedures when you leave Japan or move into another place.
