Overview

• Room type：Single Room (Type A : Standard, Type B : with bathroom sink)
• Meal：Breakfast and Evening Meals are provided.  *Except on Sundays and National Holidays
• Rent (Administration Fees Included)

Administration fees refer to the use of shared facilities, general administrative and other miscellaneous costs.

1) Rent for Exchange Student :

 (Type A) 46,200 JPY / (Type B) 51,200 JPY per month (Amount after Subsidy Applied)
We subsidizes the monthly rent (25,000 JPY) ONLY for exchange students.
One semester : 4 ~ 7 months, Two semester : 10 ~ 12 months

2) Rent for Visiting International students (Fee paying) :

 (Type A) 71,200 JPY / (Type B) 76,200 JPY per month
One semester : 4 ~ 7 months, Two semester : 10 ~ 12 months

3) Other costs :

You will be billed for the following:
a. Internet fees
b. Bedding Rental (optional)
c. Refrigerator (optional)

Notice on Living in a Dormitory

1. To secure impartiality, students are NOT allowed to choose which dormitory to stay. HOSEI will randomly assign the dormitories for ESOP students.
2. Students are able to decide the actual stay length during the dormitory application period. 
3. The rent for the first semester should be paid before you arrive in Japan.
4. Paying in a lump sum for every semester is the only option.
5. Charges for electricity and water are covered by Hosei University. However, should monthly fees become excessively high due to misuse, such as excessive usage of air conditioner etc., she/he will be requested for the surcharge(s).
6. Costs may vary according to the yearly revised contract between Hosei University and the dormitory managemaent company.
7. Dorm fees are Non-Refundable for any reason.
8. Special meals are not offered.

Accommodation Other Than Dormitory

The Ichigaya campus of Hosei is in central Tokyo.
Accommodation rent of central Tokyo is about 70,000 JPY to 100,000 JPY per month.
Accommodation rent of suburbs is about 50,000 JPY to 60,000 JPY per month.

We recommend you require us to arrange a dormitory for you.
If student decide on other accommodation, she/he needs to be responsible for all related expensed.
Since in Japan, it is also necessary to pay additional (non-refundable) fees when signing a lease, so that the initial payment is likely to amount to two to five times the monthly rent.

Since the address registration (a moving-in notification) at the city office is mandatory for every ESOP student, please make sure your accommodation can be registered before you make a contract.
