Congratulations on your pass to Hosei University.
We inform you of procedures for international students for Spring 2023.
This information will be revised for need.

Orientation (Guidance)

The orientation for international students will be implemented by HyFlex.
Those whose residence status is/ will be “Student” must attend this orientation.

• Date: Friday, March 31st
• Time: 13:00~14:30
• Announcement: URL will be informed by email.

Renewal period of your stay for those who stay in Japan

New students whose date of expiration is before April 30th, 2023 are eligible to apply for renewing the residence card.
Please apply by the URL below.

• Extension of your stay for Spring 2023 new students

New students whose date of expiration is after May 1st, 2023 are able to apply for renewal after entering Hosei University. Please follow the instruction by Global Education Center.

• For those who stay out of Japan and do not obtain “Student” as a status or for those who will stay in a short period.All international students have to obtain “Student” status by applying a Certificate of Eligibility, COE and need to apply for a visa at your nearest Japanese Embassy/ Consulate general in your country. For those who have not applied for the visa and wish to ask as to be your proxy to apply for it, please contact Global Education Center,  gso@hosei.ac.jp as soon as possible.  It will take about two months to issue COE. It might be possible that delay of your application cause you not arriving in Japan by the time of an entrance ceremony. Please keep in your mind that all procedures regarding the residence card need plenty of time.
• Reservation holders of “Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship for Privately-Financed International Students”.Get your My Page ID by URL below if you are a reservation holder.

Then, apply both ① and ②.

• Deadline: March 25th
• After we confirm your enrollment payment, we will email you Certificate of enrollment.
• ②JASSO  Online Form
• Deadline: March 27th
• After you receive Certificate of enrollment, register Hosei university as your host institution.

Issuing Certificate of enrollment

Please email us, gso@hosei.ac.jp for need of certificate of enrollment, 申請用紙 except for above “Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship for Privately-Financed International Students.”
If you are a reservation holder of “Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship for Privately-Financed International Students” and need Certificate of enrollment, follow as above.
For graduate programs, please ask your faculty for Certificate of enrollment.

Leave of absence after your enrollment

You may take a leave of absence right after your enrollment because of your country military service. If you have a plan to do so, please inform Global Education Center,  gso@hosei.ac.jp

After all procedures are completed and confirmed, the tuition fee of the first spring semester and an equivalent amount of registration fees will be refunded as a scholarship.
