Only those overseas local programs conducted in English are published here. Please note, however, that various administrative procedures at Hosei University related to program participation will be conducted in Japanese in principle, and supplemental information will be provided in English only when necessary. For a list of all programs, including those that require Japanese language skills, please refer to the Japanese website.

FPT International Volunteer Program

Overview

This is an international volunteer program conducted by FPT University, which was established by FPT Corporation, the largest IT company in Vietnam and one of our partner universities. During the four-week program, participants will engage in fundraising projects at Agent Orange Victims Center, a non-profit organization that supports victims of Agent Orange, and recycling and cleanup projects at CORMIS, an environmental conservation non-profit organization. In addition, you will teach English and Japanese at an orphanage. In addition to volunteer activities, the program will also include exchanges with local students, a tour of Da Nang, and a homestay to deepen understanding of Vietnamese culture. Through participation in the program, you will learn design thinking that will be useful in practicing community development.

Participation fees
  • Program fee (FPT University) and accommodation (including breakfast) will be covered by Hosei University.
  • Students are responsible for their own airfare, overseas travel insurance, meals, and transportation expenses related to the program.
    *Airline tickets and overseas travel insurance must be arranged as specified by Hosei University (approximate cost: 250,000 yen).

Language Requirements Communication skills in English or the local language of the destination (TOEIC 550 or more)
*Communication skills in the local language would be desirable but are not essential.
Supplemental Information
  • Once you have been accepted into the program, you will prepare a CV and Portrait in the prescribed format and submit them to FPT University.
  • During the period leading up to the start of the program, online interviews and information sessions will be held by FPT University and the training site (attendance required).

FPT International Internship Program

Overview

The internship program is offered in cooperation with FPT University, one of our partner university, which was established by FPT Corporation, the largest IT company in Vietnam, for the purpose of human resource development. The companies cover a wide range of fields including IT, business strategy, human resources, marketing, public relations, and quality assurance. Through preliminary online interviews, you will be assigned to a company based on their desired industry and position, as well as your aptitude. In addition to internships, the program will also include exchanges with local students, city tours of Da Nang, and homestays to deepen understanding of Vietnamese culture. Through participation in the program, you will develop practical and business skills that can be used globally.

Eligibility for Participation

  1. Undergraduate and graduate students (regular course students only) enrolled at the University.
  2. Be willing and participate independently.
  3. Meet deadlines for submissions, etc. Attend all guidance, orientation, and debriefing sessions held by Hosei University and the host institution. Respond promptly to communications from the Global Education Center.
  4. Have the understanding of the guarantor regarding participation in this program, including the cost.
  5. The applicant must understand and agree to all of the description in the application guidelines.

Application Procedure and Selection Schedule

Required documents
  • Student ID, language certificate, passport (scanned data PDF of the original for each)
  • Application form for each program
    *Prepare the application form on a PC, etc. and submit it as a Word file. Handwritten forms are not acceptable.
    *Do not change the original formatting. Please note that formatting may be corrupted when editing on a smartphone or other device.
    *Create the text by your own efforts. Receiving corrections or publishing texts created by others (including generated AI, etc.) as they are will be regarded as fraudulent and will result in disqualification if discovered.

Please review this application guideline and the official website of each training site to understand the details of the program, and then submit your application using the form below. Required documents are to be submitted as attachments within the form.

Pre- and post-program orientation, assignments, etc.

Participation in this program requires participation in the following risk management guidance (3 sessions), pre-orientation, and post-program debriefing sessions. If you are unable to participate for reasons other than class, you will not be able to apply in principle.

  • Pre-Orientation: Saturday, July 19 (face-to-face, Ichigaya Campus)

In addition, the following actions are required upon return

  • Submission of activity reports/reflection sheets and responses to participant questionnaires

In addition to the above, participation in pre- and post-program interviews, information sessions, training sessions, etc., and submission of assignments by the training site are all required.

Passport

  • If you do not have a passport, please apply for a new passport as soon as possible after you decide to participate in the program.
  • If you already have a passport, please make sure that your remaining validity period meets the following requirements, and if not, please renew your passport as soon as possible after you decide to participate in the program.
    *If you do not have enough time left in your passport, you may be asked to renew your passport.
  • Depending on the program, passport information may be required immediately after your decision to participate (for airline ticket arrangements and visa applications). Since it takes time to obtain a new or renewed passport, you may be asked to obtain a new or renewed passport before the interview screening.
FPT(Vietnam) After February 10, 2026

The above explanation is based on a Japanese passport and Japanese nationality. In other cases, you may need to take other measures, so please check carefully by yourself.

Credit Granting

Students who complete the program and complete all required submissions, procedures, orientations, assignments, etc. without delay will be eligible to earn credit and be counted toward graduation requirements. Credit approval requirements vary by department, so please refer to the link below for a list of credit granting policy. For details, please check with the office of each faculty.

Notes

  1. This program is not a “package tour. The University will coordinate with each training site, collect and provide information, and provide other general support, but participants are expected to exercise their own initiative in participating. Please make sure that you and your guarantor understand that this is a “group training program.
  2. The participation fees listed in these guidelines are approximate. Participation fees may vary depending on the cost of airline tickets, fuel, exchange rate fluctuations, etc. In particular, due to the recent depreciation of the yen and soaring fuel costs, the participation fee may increase significantly from the estimated amount. Please be sure to prepare sufficient funds when applying for the program.
  3. No faculty or staff from our University will accompany participants in any of the programs.
  4. Participants will be required to purchase travel insurance as specified by the University.
  5. For risk management purposes, participants are required to follow the instructions of the university regarding airline tickets to be acquired. All participants will depart and return on the same flight. Extension of stay before or after the start of the program is not allowed. Cross-border travel is not permitted during the program.
  6. If you do not follow the instructions of the Global Education Center regarding the submission of documents, procedures, orientation, etc., or if we are unable to contact you, we reserve the right to refuse your participation in the program.
  7. In principle, please refrain from cancelling your participation in the program once you have been confirmed. If you cancel after your participation has been confirmed without a valid reason, we may refuse your application for future programs offered by the Global Education Center. Please check the schedule of each program and orientation carefully and apply only if you are able to participate.
    【Attention】If you cancel your participation in a program after you have been selected, you may be charged a cancellation fee depending on the program. Please note that you will be charged an amount equivalent to the actual cost of the program if cancellation fees are incurred.
  8. All communications between program participants and the university will be sent to the Hosei e-mail address <▲▲▲@stu.hosei.ac.jp>. Please check your incoming e-mails frequently.
  9. The program may be cancelled without prior notice due to changes in the local situation in the host country or for reasons beyond the control of the host university or organization. In addition, the program may be cancelled or the program content may be changed if the number of participants does not reach the minimum number specified by the university or the host institution, or if the host university or the host institution has other reasons.
  10. Read the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ safety information concerning security of your destination and the precaution statement of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare quarantine station for infections and other health hazards.
  11. Participation in the program may be terminated if a participant engages in any act that is illegal or offensive to public order and morals.

Scholarship

FPT programs are eligible for the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) scholarship. However, applicants must have Japanese citizenship or permission to permanently reside in Japan (including special permanent residents).
