2025 Fall Semester Farewell Party for Exchange Students Held
2026.01.23
On Monday, January 19, the Center for Global Education hosted the Fall Semester Farewell Party for Exchange Students on the 26th floor of Boissonade Tower at the Ichigaya Campus.
This end-of-semester event is held regularly to bid farewell to exchange students who have studied at Hosei University for one or two semesters. Attendees included incoming exchange students from our partner institutions abroad, Hosei students who have studied overseas or are preparing to do so, as well as students, faculty, and staff involved in international exchange activities.
Many students took part in the event and enjoyed their final moments together with the exchange students through friendly conversations and recreational activities organized by the HUBs core members.
During the award ceremony, three exchange students who made outstanding contributions to the exchange student hosting program were recognized and presented with Hosei University merchandise as tokens of appreciation.
The event concluded with everyone watching a highlight video of the semester, produced by members of the HOSEI Promotion Project. The video brought back fond memories and filled the venue with an emotional and heartwarming atmosphere.
Below are reports from the exchange students who participated in the event.
Voices of Participants: Farewell Party:Sounds of Japan, Memories of Hosei [GUO Yuqin] (Exchange Student, Hosei University)
Reliving Japan Through Sound
At the farewell party, we all played a fun little game. The teacher played many pieces of music commonly heard in daily life in Japan, and we had to guess the scenes they corresponded to. There were also trivia questions about Hosei University. We heard background music from convenience stores, the theme song of Donki, and even questions related to Hosei University's distinctive feature: baseball. Everyone actively jumped in with answers, laughing and discussing along the way. The whole process was lively and cheerful, and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely. The atmosphere was wonderful.
Sharing Laughter and Stories
We stood together, enjoying the food prepared by the school. There were rice balls, fried snacks, and other light bites—a rich variety, all of which tasted great. I chatted with new friends I had made at Hosei University while eating, sharing funny stories from classes and our experiences of living in Japan. It felt so joyful to have such relaxed conversations with friends from different places. This exchange opportunity has been truly rare, and being able to meet so many wonderful friends made it even more precious. I will deeply cherish this experience and hold onto this special bond of friendship.
