Invitation to the Hachinohe Fieldwork Program: Learning Global Issues from a Countryside of Japan
2026.09.23
Interested in real social issues in Japan? Join the Hachinohe Fieldwork Program—a new Spring 2026 program! Under the theme, "How can foreign workers settle long-term in local communities?", a mixed team of 4 Hosei students (combining regular and international students) will interview local companies in Hachinohe, Aomori, and present ideas to key stakeholders.
Why Hachinohe Now?
- The Frontlines of Japan's Aging Society: Aomori Prefecture is facing a significant population decline, making foreign workers essential to sustaining its vital primary and secondary industries. Rural Japan is truly "where the world's future is unfolding today."
- From LOCAL to GLOBAL: "Learning local issues means anticipating the world's future!" Visit companies, speak with foreign workers, and stay at a local guesthouse for unique insights beyond the classroom.
