Exchange Students from Overseas Program (ESOP)

Overview and Curriculum

Overview

Exchange Students from Overseas Program(ESOP) is a NON-DEGREE program which was established in 1997 to provide academic opportunities to students who wish to experience Japan first-hand. Exchange students are from over 200 partner institutions overseas, as well as individual applicants. However, individual students need to bear tuition fees on their own.

ESOP offers a special curriculum with topics related to traditional and modern Japan. Interdisciplinary courses from regular faculties are also available. Moreover, students can maximize their learning by enrolling in Japanese Language Education (JLE) with no additional fees if they are interested in language study.

We believe students can both explore Japan and build connections with young generation worldwide through ESOP.

Course

In addition to ESOP courses, students can enroll in regular courses offered by any faculty at Hosei University (conditional upon the course instructor’s permission
